Raw Plantain

Plantains are rich source of Fiber, Vitamins, Magnesium and Potassium which improves digestive health, controls heart health, prevents constipation and helps in weight loss. This is a tasty and nutritious recipe prepared pretty much in the same way as potatoes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Raw Plantain
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 Red Chilli
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1-2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • Oil
  • Salt

Method
 

  1. Cut Plantain into small pieces and put it in water.
  2. In a kadai, add oil, red chilli and onion.
  3. When onion is half done, add Plantain by draining away the water.
  4. Saute the plantain and then add salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder. Saute it and close it. Let it get done in its own steam covered.
  5. When Plantain is done, open the lid and saute it fry for another 10-15 min till it achieves your desired consistency. Add more oil and roast for crispier version.
  6. Serve with curd rice.
