In a cooker, add oil, chopped small onion, red chilli, curry leaf and ginger. Saute for 5 min till onions wilt.
Add cleaned mutton pieces, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp pepper powder, ½ tsp cumin powder and saute.
After 2-3 min add tomato & saute for another 5 min. Adding tomato is optional.
By this time water would have start coming out from the mutton pieces.
Add 2 tsp all purpose chilli powder, salt and saute till all the water evaporates.
At this stage, add a cup of water and keep it for 2 whistles, then another 20 min in low flame.
After opening cooker, if at all there seems to be lot of water, keep in medium flame and dry it for roast recipe. Serve with rice or dosa or chapathi.
