Wash and soak ½ cup green gram and ½ cup fenugreek overnight.
Drain away water the next day and let it to sprout for a day or two. If needed you can also wrap it in muslin cloth.
In a pan add oil, splutter mustard and curry leaves.
Add washed sprouted green gram and fenugreek. Mix it. Also add a piece of kudampuli/ gambooge, ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 2 tbsp chilli powder and salt.
Add ¼ cup water and cover and cook. Add more water if required.
Let it cook covered for 15-20 min. Stir in between.
When its done, add coconut and mix. The more coconut, the more tastier. Also adding more coconut and chilli powder reduces the bitterness of fenugreek.
Serve as a side dish along with rice.
