Mint chutney
Mint is the oldest culinary herb known to mankind with medicinal properties. Mint leaves are commonly used in cooking and used either in raw or in cooked form. It has antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It's said, in the past century, mint leaves were mashed and rubbed on the chest to ease whooping cough. It is also called calming herb and helps treat stomach upset, indigestion, support immune and respiratory function, acts as mouth freshener, cleanses skin and so on. Mint chutney is a no cook recipe, prepared easily in a short time. It has a nice tangy flavour from mint, lemon and green chilli. Mint can be easily cultivated in home, and is a must cultivate herb owing to the health benefits it provides.
Ingredients
- 3 Cup Mint leaves
- ½-¾ Cup Coconut
- 1-2 Green chilli
- 1 Lemon (Juice)
Instructions
- Clean and wash mint leaves.
- Grind mint leaves along with coconut, green chilli, salt and juice from 1 lemon. (You can add a tsp of water if needed to grind)
- Transfer to bowl and serve. Goes good with Idli/ Dosa, pulao, biryani, chapathi and also as a good spread for sandwich.
