Drumstick leaf dosa

The health benefits of drumstick has been known for generations and been widely used in herbal medicines. Drumstick/moringa leaves is also available in capsule or powdered form as dietary supplements. It is an excellent source of Iron, vitamins, minerals, proteins, calcium, phosphorous. Also an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, lowers cholesterol, blood sugar, detoxifier, antiseptic and helps treat digestive disorders. Due to all these properties it is referred to as Super food.
Make it a point to grow drumstick plant in your yard and reap the benefits organically, as every part of the tree has its own super health benefits.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Drumstick/Moringa leaf
  • 1 cup Idli rice/Raw rice
  • ½ cup Coconut
  • 1 tsp Cumin/Jeera
  • 1 inch size Tamarind
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp Hing powder (Asafoetida)
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Clean drumstick leaves by removing it from stem and clearing all the debris.
  • Soak Idli rice/raw rice for about 2 hours.
  • Grind rice along with ½ cup coconut, 1 tsp cumin, tamarind, 1 tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp turmeric pdr, salt and asafoetida.
  • Grind to dosa batter consistency by adding only needed water.
  • Once grinded, add washed drumstick leaves and mix evenly. Dosa batter is ready.
  • Heat a dosa pan, pour some batter and spread it evenly. Drizzle some oil and let it get done in medium flame. It takes some time to cook, flip over and cook the other side too.
  • Drumstick leaf dosa is ready to be served. It can be had as such or with coconut chutney.
