Broken Wheat Upma

Broken wheat is a rich source of fiber and minerals. It lowers blood sugar and cholesterol, improves digestive function, protects heart health and helps in weight loss. It is easy to digest and can be used in a variety of recipes for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Broken wheat is very healthy and beneficial for the body. Try to incorporate it every week either in the form of upma or pulao or kheer or any other recipes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Broken Wheat
  • 1 Carrot
  • 7-10 Beans
  • ½ Cup Green Peas
  • 1 Onion
  • 2-3 Green Chillies
  • 1" Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Chana Dal
  • 1 tsp Urad Dal
  • Mustard Seeds
  • Curry Leaves
  • 3 Cup Water

Instructions
 

  • In a cooker, add oil, splutter mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal and curry leaves.
  • Add onions, ginger and green chillies.
  • When onion is done, add vegetables and saute for about 5 min.
  • Add 3 cups water and bring to boil.
  • Add washed Broken wheat (1 cup) and salt and keep it for 3 whistles.
  • Fluff it with fork and serve hot with coconut chutney.
