Garlic Curry
Garlic can be called as a medicine rather an ingredient because its health benefits are humongous. Garlic has been used for generations in lots of medicines and diet, due to its extensive healing properties. Traditionally its been used as an medicine to treat ulcers, tumors, asthma, respiratory problems, wounds, infections and more. Nowadays its used extensively for its anti-inflammatory effect, lowering Cholesterol and Blood Pressure, stronger immune system, fight against cancer, natural antibiotic and many more. This super food is enough to treat our common health ailments towards a healthy system.
Ingredients
- 20-25 Garlic Cloves
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- 1 tsp Mustard
- ¼ tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 1 tsp Tamarind paste (thick)
- 1 tbsp All purpose Chilli Powder (Kuzhambu milagai thool)
- ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt
- Curry Leaves
- Gingelly oil
Instructions
- In a pan, add gingelly oil, splutter mustard, followed by little fenugreek seeds and curry leaves.
- Add onions and saute it for about 2-3 minutes.
- Add garlic. Saute onions and garlic together till both gets done for about 10 min.
- When its ¾ done, add a tbsp of all purpose chilli powder (kuzhambu milagai thool), ¼ tsp of turmeric powder and salt as required.
- Saute it for about 7-10 min and add a tsp of thick tamarind paste.
- Add half a cup of water and check consistency.
- Increase or decrease water level based on your consistency preferences. Close it and let it get done.
- Switch off when its starts to boil and let it stand for some time with lid closed.
- Serve with rice.
